Santiago, DR. – President Luis Abinader inaugurated the highway this Friday Juan Veras-The Yayitas for the benefit of hundreds of families in this livestock and agricultural area.
During the event, the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Deligne Ascención Burgos reported that the construction of approximately six kilometers The Juan Veras-Las Yayitas highway was requested for years by residents and will promote development and mountain tourism.
Ascención Burgos, highlighted that when the president Luis Abinader He took over the management of the Dominican Republic in the year 2020 instructed that the work of the Gregorio Luperón tourist highway that had stopped for a long time.
He said that the works on the road were resumed through a law by legislators of this province, basically it became possible to finish a work that had already exhausted its limit of 25 %.
He also added that: “With this we not only conclude the works of La Turística but we add new works already completed such as the Guazumal-La Cumbre highway and another that connects with this one, the Juan Veras-Palo Alto highway that the president inaugurated several months ago.”
In this regard, the minister explained that other works are being carried out around and in the area surrounding La Turística, up to Yasica.
«Around the La Turística highway, the investment that your government has made through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications exceeds the RD$4 billion,” Ascencion Burgos highlighted.
He also said that this work is an inclusive development that involves all communities, creating a virtuous circle in which those who live in large cities, such as the communication between Santiago and Puerto Plata, as well as those who live in smaller communities, can benefit.
He also announced that on the instructions of President Abinader the 2 kilometers left to reach Pedro García and a play (if they get the land) will be included in the contract to be carried out by the government.
