Government inaugurates 24/7 Georeferenced Control and Monitoring Center of the TRAE system

Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Campsled this Wednesday the inauguration of the 24/7 Georeferenced Control and Monitoring Center National Student Transportation System (TRAE)a modern technological platform that will strengthen safety, efficiency and transparency in public school transportation.

The new center will allow real-time monitoring of the 1,871 buses that make up the TRAE fleet, benefiting almost 1.9 million students throughout the country.

During the event, Minister De Camps highlighted the leadership and vision of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who has promoted this project as part of the Government’s commitment to the modernization of the educational system, equity in access to education and the comprehensive protection of students.

De Camps stressed that, behind each monitored route, “There is a calm mother, a confident father, a teacher waiting and a State that accompanies, provides for and watches over its children.”

Likewise, he expressed that true progress is measured not only in kilometers traveled, but in smiles that safely arrive in the classrooms and return home each day.

For his part, the director of the BRINGOnesimo González, highlighted that “With this innovation, the Government advances in the comprehensive modernization of the educational system, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children and adolescents.”

In addition, he explained that the monitoring center has a preventive artificial intelligence system capable of automatically detecting possible anomalies, such as driver fatigue, unauthorized stops or any irregular situation during the journey.

Each system unit BRING is being converted into a “smart bus”equipped with smart cameras with GPSmonitoring and cybersecurity systems, and internet connectivity.

The tool will allow parents to follow the bus location in real time, receive boarding alerts and estimated arrival times; to drivers, optimize routes, receive alerts about the status of the vehicle and maintain direct communication with the control center; and managers, monitor the operational performance of the entire fleet and access metrics in real time.

Present at the event were Deligne Ascención, minister without portfolio in charge of the Transportation Cabinet; Julio Cordero, Presidential Commissioner for the Review and Supervision of Corrective Maintenance Contracts for School Infrastructures; Dulce Agramonte, administrative director of MINERD, among others.
