After last night the president Dina Boluartethrough a Message to the Nation, communicated the definitive retirement of the Peruvian ambassador in Mexico, Manuel Talavera, the Foreign Ministry made official today, through a resolution published in El Peruano, the cessation of his functions.
“To terminate the functions of the Ambassador in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic Manuel Gerardo Talavera Espinar as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru in the United Mexican States. The end date of his functions will be set by Ministerial Resolution ”, the supreme resolution signed by President Dina Boluarte and Foreign Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi verbatim indicates.
Yesterday morning the president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO), not only carried out a new act of political interference against Peru, but also called Dina Boluarte a “spurious president” and described the vacancy of Pedro Castillo executed by Congress as a “media coup d’état”. This act caused the Head of State, at night, to announce through TV Peru the definitive retirement of the Peruvian ambassador in Mexico, who has been holding that position since 2021.
“I have ordered the definitive retirement of our ambassador in the United Mexican States. In this way, diplomatic relations between Peru and Mexico are formally at the level of business managers,” Boluarte said last night.
