Government files complaint against those responsible for the armed attack against workers in the Los Ríos region

The Government of the President Gabriel Boricpresented during this day a criminal complaint against those responsible for the armed attack suffered by two buses transporting workers from the Starkraft company in the Río Bueno commune, Los Ríos region, yesterday afternoon.

Specifically, the fact was perpetuated by four hooded subjects, who threatened the drivers of the vehicles and fired a shot at the rear door of one of the buses carrying 20 passengers; while the other means of transport, which carried 23 workers, suffered from the attempted fire.

The presidential delegate of Los Ríos, Paula Penacondemned the events announcing that “a criminal complaint has been filed against all those who are responsible for the crimes of illegal possession, firearms, unjustified shooting and any other illicit that derives from the investigation.”

Visit of Monsalve

The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalvewent to the region to hold various meetings with local authorities and inform them that despite not decreeing a State of Constitutional Exception in the area, security measures will be taken.

As stated Cooperative Radio, Monsalve specified that the Executive will invest 1,850 million pesos to strengthen the security of the region, where “one of the central elements is that these resources could allow the acquisition of equipment that is developed around the mobile barracks.”
