He Executive power made official the extension for 30 days of the state of emergency in the provinces of TrujilloPataz and Virú, in the department of La Libertad. The measure will take effect from September 11 and seeks to guarantee citizen security and combat crime.

This Thursday, the President of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzenannounced that the Council of Ministers made the decision to extend the State of Emergency to combat crime.
This Friday, Supreme Decree No. 091-2024-PCM was published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, which establishes that the General Command of the PNP recommended extending the State of Emergency in Pataz, given the latent affectation of internal order due to illegal mining, organized crime and other crimes.
In the case of Virú, the law also indicates that the rate of commission of the crime of extension and others, which affect public safety and disrupt internal order and economic and social development, is maintained.
The province of Trujillo continues to be under criminal harassment in its various forms, with a higher incidence of theft, robbery, extortion, among others. In this regard, the National Police points out that there is a tendency towards an increase in crimes against property and sexual freedom.
The decree establishes that the Peruvian National Police will maintain internal control, with the support of the Armed Forces. It also establishes that, in accordance with the Constitution, the restriction or suspension of the exercise of fundamental rights regarding the inviolability of the home, freedom of movement throughout the national territory, freedom of assembly and personal security will apply.
Within five business days after the end of the State of Emergency, the PNP must submit to the Ministry of the Interior a detailed report of the actions carried out during the extension of the state of emergency and the results obtained.
