Santo Domingo.-In the framework of the much talked about constitutional reform, the Executive Branch announced this Wednesday that it excluded the modification of the constitutional provisions that refer to the conformation of the Superior Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP), which had provoked widespread rejection among prosecutors and members of the MP.
This measure by the Government of Luis Abinader was taken during a meeting with the country’s associations of prosecutors with whom the issue was discussed, according to a statement from the Presidency.
In this regard, Edwar López and Andrés Comas, representatives of two associations of prosecutors, had pointed out that removing that figure from the Constitution was an attack on the career of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
