The federal government will start a vaccination campaign in another 5,500 municipalities across the country to expand the vaccination coverage of children and young people up to 15 years. A statement by ministers Camilo Santana (Education) and Alexandre Padilha (Health), aired in a national radio and television chain, this Friday (11), announced initiative details.
“Brazil is going around and we will, again, be world champions in vaccination. For this, we will have a great mobilization in states and municipalities, in public schools, which starts next Monday, the 14th, and runs until the 25th of this month. It is the health action at school,” said Padilha.
The goal, according to Camilo Santana, is to vaccinate almost 30 million students in over 110,000 schools.
“We are mobilized, the entire federal government, for each public school in our country, in each Brazilian municipality, receives vaccines that will guarantee more health for our students. And for that, we have the states and municipalities, which will be with us in this effort,” said the Minister of Education.
For children under five, from kindergarten, vaccines against yellow fever, triple viral fever and triple bacterial triple will be offered. And for over five years and under 15, immunizers will be against:
- Yellow fever
- Triple viral
- Triple Bacterial
- Meningitis
- HPV
One of the news announced by the ministers is the Digital Vaccination Bookletwhich can be downloaded on the phone.
“With the digital booklet, you will be able to monitor all vaccines, always be up to date with immunization and track all the information on your children’s consultations and health. And now, the digital book will warn you when it comes time to have a new vaccine or a dose of reinforcement,” said the health minister.
Public students will be vaccinated by professionals from the Unified Health System (SUS) at the school where they study or will be taken to the Basic Reference Health Unit, always with the consent of parents.
