In the middle of the series of questions to the government of Luis Arce for suspending the export of beef, the vice minister of communication, Gabriel Alcón, said Thursday that “immediately” the sale will be allowed again when its price in the internal market is regular.
He stressed that “the only objective” of the government is that the “Internal consumption at a fair price” and that the suspension of the export of said product is only temporary.
“There is demand for some sectors that have requested this temporary suspension, we want the price in the market to be regulated, The domestic market must be prioritized and then, immediately, (…) returns to the course. So, I think it is important to speak, we will be open to dialogue, ”he said.
However, several opposition politicians considered that the government measure will only generate greater “shortage” of the product and that the country’s productive sector is being “punished”.
“Let’s put aside other interests that can be generated among some political actors, now the moment is with the productive sectors,” Alcón replied.
“I see that they are opinion without having the indicators or arguments, (But) What has to interest us today is that the products of the family basket, of the meat (and others) reach a fair price, ”he insisted.
He also recalled that the country is in an electoral stage and in that sense also urged “Stop politicizing these issues”.
