The president of the Civil Aviation Board, José Ernesto Marte Piantini, assured that from the State there is a high interest in strengthening civil aviation.
He said that it seeks to achieve this not only through the maintenance of high standards of compliance with international regulations that govern this means of transport, but also through the active participation of the Dominican Republic in the most specialized instances of world aeronautics.
In an event for the 15th anniversary of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) and of Law 491-06, of Civil Aviation of the Dominican Republic, the official said that on the fifteenth anniversary of the State body responsible for establishing the superior policy of Aviation is celebrated with important initiatives in institutional strengthening, as well as the expansion of air connectivity in the Dominican Republic with the approval of new routes.
“Thanks to the good management of the country’s aviation relations, this year it registers record figures in the increase of passengers transported by our airports, consolidating the Dominican Republic as a destination of high interest for many nations,” he said.
In twelve months of 2021, the JAC signed air agreements and memorandums of understanding with other States and governments thanks to compliance with the country’s Open Skies commercial air policy. Several of these agreements were produced within the framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Air Transport Services Negotiation Event.
