The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, monitored this Saturday the end of the state of emergency that ends today in the so-called southern macrozone of the country, during a visit to La Araucanía.
The Government authority explained that “President Gabriel Boric had promised not to extend this state of exception, but that does not imply that the Government does not have a concern and does not have the task of guaranteeing the security of all citizens of Chile, and of course of those who live in the Region of La Araucanía and the Region of Biobío, which is where the state of exception ends”.
Monsalve met during this session with the police authorities of the area, after which he added that “we have been working on this security work with the Investigative Police, with Carabineros de Chile and, therefore, a series of of measures that strengthen the capacities of the police to carry out this important task in a democracy”.
Likewise, the Undersecretary of the Interior stated that “clearly we have sought to strengthen the number of people, strengthen operational capacities in terms of equipment and this also implies having police strategies that allow us to fulfill the task of guaranteeing security in the Biobío Region and in the Araucanía Region.
