The president of the Republic, Dina Boluartetoday promulgated a law that will allow the exceptional appointment of 3,560 contracted professors in public universities, who will move to the categories of assistant professor and associate professor.
“This is one of our great tasks, and we are fulfilling it, because our government has the objective of continuing to promote the learning of students and future professionals,” he said at the official ceremony.
The president highlighted that the appointment will require an investment of more than 246 million soles, which she described as a bet on the future of the country.
In addition, he announced a historic budget of 6,968 million soles for public universities in 2025, reaffirming education as the central axis of national development.
On the other hand, Boluarte also pointed out that his management has prioritized improvements in the salaries of university teachers, with increases of up to 800 soles.
Now, main professors receive a salary of 8,869 soles, while associates earn 5,820 soles. In the Public Teaching Career, the base salary for teachers increased to 3,100 soles in 2023.
In addition, in compliance with agreements with Sutep, the government allocated 232 million soles for the payment of CTS to teachers dismissed between 2022 and 2023.
Likewise, he announced the delivery of an extraordinary bonus of 380 soles in November for all teachers and assistants, appointed or hired.
