The Executive enacted this Friday, December 27, the extension of the deadline for the comprehensive mining formalization process of the activity in small mining and artisanal mining of people registered in the Comprehensive Mining Formalization Registry (Reinfo).
The Reinfo extension will be valid for six months, but may be renewed for six more months.
Two days ago, informal miners announced that they would block the Panamericana Sur highway and other roads in the country if the Executive did not enact the expansion of the Reinfo. And the government relented.
The norm, according to El Peruano, specifies that it seeks to incorporate the stewardship and extension of the term of the process of comprehensive mining formalization of the activity in small and artisanal mining of the subjects registered in the Comprehensive Mining Formalization Registry.
In addition, the Interoperable System for Small Mining and Artisanal Mining (SIPMMA) is created to supervise the operational traceability of minerals, explosives, chemical inputs and controlled products in small and artisanal mining.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines implements this system within a maximum period of six months from the entry into force of this law. The system must be interoperable and interconnected between State entities to facilitate the identification of non-compliance and ensure the effective formalization of the activities regulated by the purpose of this law.
He Reinfo It is a database managed by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM).
