The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) filed a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office, in reaction to reports of illegal charges.
Among 150 and 200 dollars they were charged for giving quotas within the Matilde Hidalgo de Procel Maternity, located in Guasmo (Guayaquil) to pregnant women, according to citizen complaints. Given this, the Ministry of Health reported that it presented a complaint before the Prosecutor’s Office.
The complaint states the crime of alleged influence peddlingand that the irregular facts were already under investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office.
