The President Luis Abinader yesterday inaugurated the extension of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in Hato Mayor, which was built with an investment of RD$872 million; In addition, 723 property titles were delivered in Nisibón, La Altagracia.

He announced that the tender for the extension of the UASD in Santo Domingo Este has already been awarded, which is estimated to receive 20,000 students from that area.

“And that is part of our plan to have a higher education institute no more than 40,000 kilometers from where people live, and we have done and designed that throughout the country, and we still have many other projects to carry out,” he said.
Editrudis Beltran, The rector of the UASD, praised the support and said that “in line with the revolution that we are carrying out with this expansion plan, I want to inform you that on September 3 we will be presenting 94 study plans for our careers, updated with a focus on competencies, of which 20 correspond to new careers that have been designed in areas of science in a concept associated with engineering and technology called Stem careers.”

Then in Nisibón, La Altagracia province, President Abinader delivered 723 property titles for the benefit of residents in Batey Las Guamas, Buenos Aires, Centro del Pueblo, El Peñón, La Gallera, La Laguna, Las Minas, Los Callejones, Suizo and Yonú Abajo, among others.

The president, together with the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, and the Vice Minister, Camel Curi, delivered two housing projects in Boca Chica, one of which includes 320 apartments from the Happy Family National Housing Plan.
The homes are distributed in two residential areas, the Boca Residence, with 144 apartments in the Cayacoa sector, built with an investment of RD$149 million, and the VP Residential, with 176 apartments at the entrance to the Pan-American Village, built with an investment of RD$147 million.
