Government delivered 240,000 housing subsidies

Over the four years of government, the housing minister, Susana Correa, made a balance of the achievements culminated by the cabinet. Among them, the prolongation of housing subsidies such as Mi Casa Ya and the creation of others such as Young Owners.

Regarding the first, Carlos Ruiz, Vice Minister of Housing, highlighted the delivery of 245,000 subsidies for the purchase of housing, of which 195,000 were delivered through the Mi Casa Ya program, “while more than 51 thousand households bought a house of middle segment with No VIS coverage”, Ruiz assured.

It is important to note about assignment, that Valle del Cauca was the department that was awarded the most VIS and No VIS during the government period with a total of 43,293 allocations during the four-year period, followed by Atlántico with 34,152, Cundinamarca 30,464, Bogotá 22,605, Antioquia 20,690 and Tolima 13,418 subsidies granted.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the Young Owners program, 15,264 people between 18 and 28 years of age benefited from preferential rates and easy access to mortgage loans.

Among the homes sold, according to figures from Coordenada Urbana, 852,144 new homes were sold in this government in the country, which represented a growth of 19.9% ​​compared to the same period of the previous government. “Of these, 67.9% corresponded to the VIS segment, which reached a record figure for a government period with 578,947 units sold and a growth of 49.0%. On the other hand, 273,197 units of the No VIS range were sold”, specified the Deputy Minister of Housing.

The Ministry highlighted Bogotá with 176,327 units, Cundinamarca with 123,629, Valle del Cauca with 106,089, Antioquia with 102,909, Atlántico with 81,701 and Bolívar with 38,119 as territories with the highest number of units sold between August 2018 and June 2022.

Finally, the Government in the balance highlighted that the country managed to start 588,737 homes in this four-year period, which represents a growth of 3.5% compared to the same period of the previous government. 67.9% correspond to VIS housing, while the Non-VIS segment registered 189,273 units started.
