Government confirms surgery: cabinet change will take place this Tuesday at noon

President Gabriel Boric had already said it on the national network after the triumph of Rejection in the exit plebiscite: that a cabinet change was imminent. And now, one of his ministers, Mario Marcel de Hacienda, confirmed when it will be: tomorrow, Tuesday.

Specifically, it will be at 12:00 p.m., just at noon, as confirmed by the Presidency through a statement.

The ministers were summoned at 11:15 in the O’Higgins Room to change the ministerial team.

Hours earlier, Minister Marcel, who was part of the meeting that the economic team had with the unions after the 2022 Plebiscite, confirmed that the Executive will make “changes in the government teams” this Tuesday.

In this context, he affirmed that the Government will continue promoting reforms that are part of the program and that, after the victory of the Rejection, there will be a change in the way of advancing in the matters.

“From now on we are going to have some changes tomorrow, in the government teams, we are going to have space to discuss how to conduct the reforms that are currently under discussion or those that are about to be presented,” he said.

In the afternoon, the government spokesperson, Camila Vallejo, had already referred to this matter: “Each one of the ministers, each one of us, ministers and ministers, undersecretaries and undersecretaries, presidential delegates, know that this is a exclusive power of the President and when he determines adjustments and modifications to his cabinet, one must be available to do so,” he said.
