Government cancels social benefits to 100% of former workers of the defunct Aasana

The Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing, Edgar Montaño, reported this Thursday that 100% of the former workers of Airport Administration and Auxiliary Services to Air Navigation (Aasana), received payment of their social benefits.

The Minister said that more than 144 million Bolivians were allocated to meet 758 former workers who received their settlements. While more than 140 former officials took up voluntary retirement, in the first instance.

“Yesterday we finished paying the social benefits to 100% of the former workers of Aasana. Our government is happy, because we comply with this disbursement in the 15 days established, therefore, the right of any worker was not violated, “said the minister, according to a press release.

For its part, the liquidating authority of Aasana, Boris Barroso, expressed his satisfaction for complying with the mandate of the president, Luis Arce, since overtime, seniority bonuses, five-year terms and other payments that are part of the regulations were canceled current.

In turn, the executive general manager of the Bolivian Air Navigation and Airports entity (Naabol), Elmer Pozo, pointed out that the new institution already has more than 580 workers, 80% of the staff is operational and 20% administrative. Unlike the former Aasana, the new entity will generate significant savings that will be used for new investments, Pozo said.
