The measure taken by the Government and which has been published today in the newspaper El Peruanooccurs through the Legislative Resolution No. 32214which allows the entry of the military corps of the Department of Defense of the USA to Peruvian territory, as well as their weapons, to carry out training cooperation activities with the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.
The aforementioned activities will be carried out from January 1 to December 31, 2025, under the provisions of paragraph 8 of article 102 of the Political Constitution of Peru.

The Legislative resolution indicates the following: “theExecutive powerso that, through a supreme resolution endorsed by the Minister of Defense, it can modify, when there are unforeseen causes, the start date of the activities considered in the annex to this legislative resolution.”
What would be the activities that the North American military will carry out in Peru?
In accordance with a resolution sent by the Executive Branch to Congress, military personnel from the United States Department of Defense will be present in various provinces of Peru, including Lima, Callao, Loreto, San Martín, Huánuco, Ucayali, Pasco, Junín, Huancavelica, Cusco, Ayacucho, Apurímac, Santa Lucía, Puerto Maldonado, Iquitos and Pucusana.
The contingent, made up of 55 troops, will carry out support, assistance and training tasks aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Armed forces and the National Police of Peru.
