President Sebastián Piñera confirmed this Sunday that a sixth Chilean, together with his family, managed to leave Ukraine and take refuge in Poland, in the context of the Russian invasion.
“We already have six Chileans who have managed to cross the border and are safe with their families. In fact, this morning one more Chilean managed to cross, along with his wife and son, who were in difficulty, and received the support and help of our staff from the embassy and consulate in Poland, which is concurrent with Ukraine”, detailed the Leader.
On the other hand, the Head of State expressed hope that the negotiations agreed for today between Russian and Ukrainian delegations on the Belarusian border will yield positive results.
“The Western world has reacted with a set of sanctions, but what really matters is that the war ends and the loss of life ends. We are hopeful that this opening of dialogue will allow us to move in that direction,” said the president.
