With R$201.6 billion in August, federal revenue breaks record again

The credit will be made in a staggered manner, according to the workers’ month of birth. Those who have a checking or savings account with Caixa will receive it directly into their account. At Banco do Brasil, payment of the benefit will be made, primarily, by credit to a bank account, through PIX, transfer via TED or, even, in person at service agencies.

The other beneficiaries will receive the amounts through Digital Social Savings, automatically opened by Caixa, according to the payment schedule. According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), the estimate is that around 25.8 million workers will receive the benefit, totaling R$30.7 billion.

Rules

According to current rules, to receive the salary bonus, the worker must have been informed by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (RAIS) by May 15, 2024 and in eSocial by August 19, 2024. Workers whose employers who provided the information after these dates will receive the benefit in the next financial year.

The first payment of the benefit will be made on February 17th for workers born in January, according to the calendar below.

In 2024, R$27 billion were released to pay the benefit. However, R$218.9 million is still available for 239,142 workers who did not receive the bonus. They have until December 27th to make the withdrawal.

What is the salary bonus

Established by Law 7,998/90, the salary bonus is equivalent to the value of, at most, one minimum wage, to be paid according to the annual calendar established by Codefat to workers who meet the requirements set out in law. Payment resources come from the Worker Support Fund (FAT).

The salary bonus covers private sector professionals and public servants who formally worked for at least 30 days in the base year of 2023, with remuneration of up to two minimum wages (R$ 2,640.00). In addition, you must have been enrolled in the program for at least five years and the employer must have provided the correct data in RAIS or eSocial. The value of the bonus varies depending on the number of months worked in the base year, reaching up to the minimum wage.
