The news that thousands of workers were waiting for for the Christmas Holidays finally became official.
This Wednesday, December 3, the Government of Peru, through the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), approved the Christmas bonus corresponding to 2025, a benefit that will be delivered to public sector servants as part of the annual recognition for these celebrations.
Supreme Decree No. 283-2025-EF, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, establishes that the amount of the Christmas bonus will be S/ 300, a sum that must be paid in the payment form for the month of December.
The measure seeks to alleviate the economy of thousands of families at the end of the year, a season in which expenses usually increase due to purchases, celebrations and family commitments.
Who will receive the bonus of S/ 300?
The benefit is aimed at a broad group of State servants. Among them are:
- Officials and servants appointed and hired under the regimes of Legislative Decree No. 276, Law No. 29944 and Law No. 30512.
- University teachers indicated in Law No. 30220.
- Health personnel included in Legislative Decree No. 1153.
- Permanent and temporary workers in the public sector.
- Members of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.
- Private pensioners included in the regimes of Law No. 15117; Decree Laws No. 19846 and No. 20530; Supreme Decree No. 051-88-PCM; and Law No. 28091.
Furthermore, in compliance with Law No. 32185, workers hired under the Special Regime of Legislative Decree No. 1057 (CAS) will also have access to the bonus, who will see this payment reflected on their December 2025 payroll.
For national teachers, the amount of the bonus is calculated according to the provisions of Law No. 29944, Teacher Reform Law. Teachers with full working hours will receive an amount no less than that indicated in the regulations, while those with reduced working hours will obtain a proportional payment.
Likewise, Human Medicine and Dentistry interns will receive a special bonus of S/ 100.
State workers subject to the labor regime of private activity will be governed by Law No. 27735, which regulates bonuses for National Holidays and Christmas.
Mandatory requirements to access the bonus
The Supreme Decree details the conditions necessary to receive this Christmas benefit:
Be working as of November 30, 2025, or be on vacation, paid leave, or receiving subsidies contemplated in Law No. 26790.
Have a minimum seniority of three months as of November 30.
If the worker does not complete the three full months, the bonus will be paid proportionally to the time worked (months and days).
