Between January and October of this year, 501 projects of investment public, with an accumulated amount for the year of 278,860.3 million pesos, reported today the Ministry of EconomyPlanning and Development when publishing the DatoSNIP report corresponding to October 2024.
The monthly publication, prepared by the General Directorate of Public Investmentdetails that in October 2024, 17 projects of investment public, with a total cost of 3,568.4 million pesos.
During the period January-October 2024, 34.6% of projects approved corresponds to the sector educationwith 174 projects.
According to the functional classification, 41.2% of the projects approved in October belongs to the sector transportwith seven projects.
The analysis by cost of projects shows that the highest amount approved that month corresponds to the function housing and community serviceswith 2,448.9 million pesos.
Regarding the period January-October 2024, the analysis by cost of the projects reveals that the largest amount approved in that period corresponds to the sector transportwith 98,844.5 million pesos, equivalent to 35.4% of the total.
- In October 2024, the institutions executors with more projects of investment public institutions approved were the Central Directorate of the National Health Service, with seven initiatives, and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) and the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Caasd), with three projects each one.
Location of the projects
The report states that SantiagoLa Vega, Azua, Santo Domingo and the National District were the provinces with the highest number of projects approved in October 2024, with two projects each one.
In addition, 37.5% of the amount approved in October corresponds to two projects in Saint Dominic for the replacements of the water pumping systems in the Manoguayabo and Tamarindo sectors, followed by the National District, where the majority will be used for the same purposes in the Isabela and Haina sectors.
By level of government
- 89.7% of projects approved in January-October 2024 corresponds to the Government Central, with 436 projects
- 9.5% to public companies, with 47 initiatives
- 3.2% to institutions decentralized and autonomous public, with 16 projects
The highest cost belongs to the projects of the Government Central, with an amount of 157,777 million pesos, representing 56.7% of the total approved to date.
