The Federal Police (PF) will have a new director-general. The current executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), Márcio Nunes de Oliveira, who is a PF delegate, will assume command of the corporation, in place of the also delegate Paulo Maiurino, who leaves office after 10 months of service.
The exchange was made official in concierge signed by the Chief Minister of the Civil House, Ciro Nogueira, and published in an extra edition of Official Diary of the Union (DOU), on the afternoon of this Friday (25).
In a post on social media, the Minister of Justice and Security, Anderson Torres, announced the changes. According to him, Maiurino will assume command of the National Secretariat for Drug Policies (Senad).
“To Dr Maiurino, my acknowledgment for the daily work of reinforcing the role of the Federal Police as an autonomous institution, yes, but with respect to fundamental precepts of the corporation, such as hierarchy and discipline. His professional experience will be fundamental at the head of Senad”, he wrote.
“To Dr Márcio Nunes, my best wishes for success in this challenging mission of his valuable career. It will be up to you to continue Dr Maiurino’s work, increasing the efficiency and professionalism of the Federal Police, daily”, he added.

The new director general of the PF has been a delegate at the institution since 2003. He was the executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice, the second most important post in the portfolio. Before that, he was PF superintendent in the Federal District, between 2018 and 2021. In his career at the PF, Nunes has already headed the Chemical Products Control Division and the Police Intelligence Data Analysis Service of the Crimes Against Crimes Repression Division.
