Government appoints Hernán Nobizelli as the new General Treasurer of the Republic

President Gabriel Boric appointed on Tuesday Hernan Nobizelli as General Treasurer of the Republic. This after analyzing the list of candidates proposed by the Council of Senior Public Management.

The President confirmed Nobizelli in the position, since he has been acting as a substitute since March of this year. Now, he will lead the body that is in charge of collecting, guarding and distributing the resources of the Public Treasury, with two thousand officials in his direction.

The auditor accountant of the University of Chile will continue in the position to Ximena Hernández. According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Nobizelli has a diploma in International Accounting Standards for the Public Sector from the University of Santiago and another in Corporate Finance from the Alberto Hurtado University.

He has worked at the Production Development Corporation (Corfo) as head of the Operations Unit in the Investment and Financing Management and in 2014 he joined the General Treasury of the Republic as head of government accounting, later serving as head of the Public Finance Division.

The competition for the position began in May 2021, with a payroll of 127 people, where only 123 applicants met the legal requirements. After case-by-case evaluations, the Senior Public Management Council interviewed ten candidates, thus forming a list for the President of the Republic to make the appointment.
