In order to maintain price stability, the Government today announced subsidies for him cornthe flour and the chicken.
Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), explained that they are joining forces with the poultry sector to prevent increases in the proportion imposed by the international market on the popular poultry meat.
Bisonó said that the subsidy to cornfood base for chickens, will allocate 700 million pesos for the next four months, with the intention of stabilizing the prices of chickenwhich from last August to date has presented a relative variation of 35%.
Likewise, he announced the extension for six months of the agreement signed between the Government and the Dominican Association of Industrial Millers of Wheatfor an amount of 533 million pesos.
“Since I assumed this management in 2020 to date, it has had a relative variation of 66 percent,” he explained, while assuring that the objective of this subsidy is to mitigate the eventual increases that could occur in breads and pastas such as consequence of the international instability of the prices of the flour from wheat.
The announcement was made in the presence of the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, and the Ministers of Industry and Commerce, Víctor Bisonó, and Agriculture, Limber Cruz, participated, together with the administrator of the Agricultural Bank, Fernando Durán, and the director of the Institute of Price Stabilization (unexpected), Ivan Guzman.
Representatives of the country’s agricultural sector were also present at the activity, which took place in the Green Room of the National Palace.
