The federal government announced on Thursday (18) the result of a new stage of project selection that will receive federal investments from the new PAC to prevent slopes and floods. In total, it will be R $ 11.7 billion of investments, to 235 municipalities in 26 states.
The works for containment of slopes will reach 102 municipalities, from all regions of the country, with more than R $ 1.4 billion in resources. For drainage, there are R $ 10.3 billion for interventions in 174 municipalities. The funds intended are from the General Budget of the Union (OGU) and the FGTS Time Guarantee Fund.
“Today, we are telling all the communities of hills and slopes in this country that this government is next to the Brazilian people and that we want to recover the dignity that was once taken from millions and millions of Brazilians, who left the countryside facing the rural exodus, who went to the cities the search for a little better life, and who did not always conquer it, because of the difficulties of the work,” Silva, in an event at the Planalto Palace to announce the works.
Among the selected developments are macrodrainage works in Duque de Caxias (RJ), in the amount R $ 554 million; Camaçari (BA), in the amount R $ 240 million; In addition to slope containment works in risk areas in Santarém (PA), in the amount of R $ 38 million, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), in the amount of R $ 78 million; and in Olinda (PE), in the amount of R $ 42 million.
