Government authorities reported that a new model for the automation of medical licenses, which is already in the Metropolitan Region, is expected to come into operation in 2023 to prevent the purchase of false licenses.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of Public Health, Cristóbal Cuadrado; the Superintendent of Social Security, Pamela Gana; and the director of the Compin, Javier Errázuriz.
In the guideline it was reported that at the end of 2022 22 doctors were arrested for this, and with the new measure it is expected to supervise those who are involved in the sale and increase the number of officials.
Physicians selling fake medical licenses are estimated to generate approximately 15% of the total sickness benefit expense. Therefore, if they are sanctioned, it would save $150 billion.
