Government announces “Bono Saldo Mi Hogar” and renovation of the housing sector

Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, announced during a visit to the Invivienda sector, Santo Domingo Este, the “Bono Saldo mi Hogar” initiative, which will benefit more than 8,000 families nationwide.

The Bono Saldo Mi Hogar is an initiative for families benefiting from projects built by the former National Housing Institute (INVI), who have been paying for years to have a home and who, due to different social, economic, health circumstances, among others, , are under a complex situation that has compromised their ability to pay.

“With the renovation and modernization of the Invivienda sector, a better future is built for all its inhabitants, improving the health of this entire community of neighbors and families, in addition to preserving a historical legacy of housing project initiatives in the Dominican Republic,” said the President Abinader

In this sense, he added that “we want better environments, because we know that better urban planning improves coexistence, quality of life and is essential for healthy and solid development.”

For his part, during his speech, Minister Bonilla stated that “one of the highest priorities of this administration has been that Dominican families have their own roof that they can call home… Today we are here to continue with that commitment. We are here to bring great financial relief to more than 8,000 families nationwide through the Bonus balance my home»

The delivery of the “Bono Saldo Mi Hogar” began in the iconic Invivienda neighborhood of the capital, but the operation will be deployed throughout the national territory to support thousands of Dominican families.

The investment of the “Bono Saldo Mi Hogar” initiative is more than RD$2,000 million pesos, thanks to which more than 30,000 Dominicans will benefit, who live in 71 projects, in different provinces of the country.

Home renovation

In addition, during the act, the renovation plan for the Invivienda Santo Domingo sector was announced, with an investment of more than 300 million pesos that includes exterior painting of 377 buildings, completion and improvement of the construction of 22 buildings, improvement and adaptation of areas green, parking, sidewalks and lighting, and the renovation of the Ing. Pedro Bonilla Community Center, next to the central park of Invivienda.

“Our commitment is to continue the path that our parents started with so much enthusiasm. Continue on its way with the same objective in mind: Improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Invivienda Santo Domingo”, said Minister Bonilla.

With the renovation and modernization of the Invivienda sector, a better future is built for all its inhabitants, improving the health of this entire community of neighbors and families, and also preserving a historical legacy of housing project initiatives in the Dominican Republic.

“Today, Invivienda is dressed in joy, because how much we waited for this moment, I had never seen a president who cared about the residents of this space, how much we wanted this that is happening, now it is a reality, thanks to President Luis Abinader and the Minister Carlos Bonilla” said Mrs. Fátima Almanzar de Frías, one of the founders of Invivienda, and who has more than 30 in the community.
