The National Salary Committee (CNS) agreed to a 19% increase in the minimum wage for workers of the non-sectorized private sector.
The increase in the remuneration of private workers will be divided into two stages. The first effective increase will be 15% from April of this year. Meanwhile, the remaining 4% will be applied in February 2024.
The information was given during a CNS press conference, which was attended by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.
The president stressed that the adjustment will increase the purchasing power of workers.
“That has been the result of these negotiations that are the most convenient, not only for workers, employers or the Government, but those indicated at this time,” said President Luis Abinader.
