The Executive resolved a decrease in the price of most fuels, indicated this Wednesday the 31st the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Omar Paganini.
The decision is based on the decline in international values, reflected in the import parity price indicator (PPI) of the last month. The value of Super 95 gasoline is reduced by $3 as of 00:00 on September 1.
In a press conference, held at the Ancap headquarters, Paganini explained that the measure is the result of a rate policy that reflects the reality of the world market.
In this way, Super 95 gasoline will drop $3 at the pump while Diesel 50S will continue at $64.99 per liter and supergas at $63.35 per kilogram.
In the case of diesel and supergas, international prices remain above the current retail price, so they will remain unchanged.
The new values will take effect from 00:00 on September 1, 2022.
Paganini stated that the decrease in global costs allowed this definition on gasoline, but not for diesel, since in Uruguay it is $1.5 below the international value, so it was decided to compensate between the two.
Asked about Ancap’s economic situation, the chief stressed that the entity’s finances are in a balanced situation, which made the decision possible.
