The Ministry of Racial Equality signed, this Friday (17), a technical cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Mobility and Technology Association (Amobitec), an entity that brings together the main mobility and applied technology platforms, such as Uber, 99, Ifood, Lalamove, Zé Delivery and Ambev.
The Minister of Racial Equality, Anielle Franco, explained that the idea of the agreement is to use the applications’ communication tools to promote awareness campaigns and combat racism. “There are millions of users of these applications in the country. If we can reach them with messages, educational content and guidance on how to report, it will be a great contribution”, he said.
On the initiative of the ministry, the dialogue with Amobitec also includes a meeting with the application partners to listen to their demands about improvements in working conditions, as well as ways to guarantee more dignity for these workers.
“For us, it is a source of pride to cooperate with the Ministry of Racial Equality, since unfortunately, racism and religious intolerance still exist in Brazil. We believe that this campaign will have a large reach, as today we have millions of users, drivers and delivery people on the apps”, stated the executive director of Amobitec, André Porto.
The campaign to raise awareness, combat and overcome racism will be carried out throughout the country, focusing on both drivers and delivery partners and users of these applications.
As agreed in the agreement, the ministry will have the possibility of making information available to the population on how to confront racism and its forms of manifestation. Furthermore, the department will be able to provide information on public policies to combat and overcome prejudice and racial discrimination. Amobitec, on the other hand, is committed to promoting, together with associated companies, the provision of advertising space for campaigns and content produced by the ministry in its applications and other communication channels. The idea is that the content produced can reach a wider audience.
The agreement also provides that the content produced will be sent via push, which appears on telephone devices as application notifications, or via email.
