The Minister of Interiors, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, explained that the drug trafficking band, which used the Maracaibo lake to transport their cargoes, decided to change the route, due to the losses caused by the lightning operation of the Catatumbo, executed in that entity by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
The explanation was offered by Minister Cabello during the press conference he offered last Thursday, where he revealed the disarticulation of a “clandestine cell” activated by María Corina Machado, who intended to explode a bomb manufactured with TNT explosive in the adjacencies of the Plaza Venezuela. At that press conference, we asked the minister if the scheme used by drug traffickers in Zulia, with the protection of seven mayors already detained, was transferred to the Falcón state. This, because, last July, 6.4 tons of drugs were seized in that entity during different procedures, according to reports.
Cabello exhibited a map to explain that, before the execution of the lightning operation, started last March in Zulia with the seizure of 35.6 tons of drugs, the organizers of that traffic entered from Colombia the shipments to the Lake Maracaibo for Casigua the cube, because they had the alliance with the authorities of the municipalities settled on those banks. “Here there is a detained crowd, officials of all levels, as you have no idea,” said Cabello.

To answer, Cabello asked his technical team to place two videos. In the first one, Yoscar Eduardo Salazar Méndez, one of the 15 arrested for the aforementioned fact. This person, who is a motorcycle taxi driver in the Tuy valleys, said that Alias La Negra contacted him to make a carriage the day the device would be placed with TNT explosives. “I didn’t want to do that,” said Salazar.
Another video collects the testimony of Zurisaday Isabel Vásquez Tirado, who said he has knowledge of the bomb assembly “that was going to be put in the Caracas Metro. ”
He also said that these explosives would be placed “before the march for Jesus, but could not.” That activity was carried out last Saturday, August 2 and was organized by the Christian evangelical movement of Venezuela. He involved several marches from Avenidas de Caracas, including La Casanova, whose section of Plaza Venezuela covers the site where they would place the bomb with the TNT explosive.
