After the signing of an agreement in which the Government undertakes to legalize land and analyze its endowment in some cases, the peasants lifted the blockade that interrupted the circulation of vehicles on the road to Chiquitania, in the Pailas sector, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

The Minister of Rural Development and Lands, Remmy Gonzales, confirmed that there is consensus on this issue and pointed out that one of the points of the document is the endowment of land.

Gonzales explained that many of these people have been settled in Santa Cruz for more than 15 years and argued that they only had a settlement resolution.

“We are going to comply with the next document that will give them legal security, which is the endowment resolution. (…) That is the central and main agreement ”, stated the authority, reported ATB.

However, he specified that “this process that comes from years ago we are going to correct it, but it will not be overnight either, procedures must be followed, censuses must be carried out, and people must be checked that they are in the areas with all the respective documentation ”.

One of the peasant leaders who promoted the presidential measure described the agreement as a victory and specified that “legal security” was achieved for approximately 500 communities settled in Chiquitania.
