The Minister of Economy, Marcelo Montenegro, considered Thursday that in the Senate a “conspiracy sabotage” occurred against the Bolivian economy, after this legislative instance approved the repeal of several articles and provisions of the Financial Law of 2025 .
“Yesterday (Wednesday) A bill that has the objective of strangling the economy was approved in the Senate National, it is a conspiracy sabotage that is being made to the popular economy, ”Montenegro said at a press conference.
The bill approved by the Senate repeals articles 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 and 21, and the additional provisions third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh, in addition to the Unique transitory disposition, and the first, second and third final provisions of Law 1613, of the General State Budget 2025 “in the protection of the national economy and the interests of society”, according to the text of the initiative that passed to deputies for Your treatment.
The minister pointed out that, with that approval, the senators eliminated the possibility of financing with the issuance of sovereign and carbon bonds, as well as “the collaterals that help reduce the rate of the interests of the external credits that could be achieved” .
He added that they also eliminated the incentives for industrialization and reinvestment, the resumption of taxpayers’ payment and support for biodiesel production.
Even, according to its same version, autonomous entities were affected, access to social housing and, also, to the food and hydrocarbons subsidy.
“They are affecting even salary remuneration, affecting the health and education sector. (Then) as you can warn, This is a conspirative sabotage that already confirms the behavior of most senators for more than two years, ”he said.
The government authority assured that a legal insecurity is being generated on the administration and functioning of the State.
“Then, from the day this is approved, The Senate, those who led to this, that begin to pay the external debt service, that begin to bring diesel and gasoline, that activate the product sector, that they take care of all that, (although) obviously they will not be able to do it, ”he said.
He demanded that the senators leave the government, which obtained more than 50% of votes, apply their economic policy.
