“Some of the politicians make calculations thinking about them, in the polls. I believe that governing implies making difficult decisions and the truth is that the security of the people requires firm action,” he said in a video posted on Twitter.
This Monday the service will be suspended in 12 stations, from Pantitlán to Salto del Agua, in this line that transports around 500,000 people daily, is almost 53 years old and its operating system exceeded its useful life.
“It is becoming increasingly difficult to guarantee the service, it stops in some places, it does not reach the speed it requires and the problem is that if it continues like this it can become risky,” added Sheinbaum.
The president said that after the first stage of the work there will be a safer Line 1, with new trains that will have 35% more capacity and a route from Pantitlán to Observatorio that will go from one hour to 30 minutes.
