Gourmet walk: tourist visits reopen in Colinas de Garzón

Gourmet walk: tourist visits reopen in Colinas de Garzón

28 kilometers from José Ignacio and neighboring Pueblo Garzón is the terroir of the Colinas de Garzón olive trees.

At the beginning of the summer season, the Colinas de Garzón mill opens its doors to visitors who wish to taste its oils first-hand in a natural environment and learn about the production process of premium extra virgin olive oils.

“Quality is present throughout the process, and it is what distinguishes us, our oils are the product of a first cold extraction of olives that are processed a few hours after being harvested. The prizes and recognitions received in international competitions, in very diverse geographies, guarantee this quality”, highlighted the dialogue with Coffee & Business the representative of Colinas de Garzón, María José Morin.

The walk

The visit to the mill adds to the experiences to enjoy Garzón.

At the beginning of the tour, there is access to a microcinema where you can see a projection that recounts the origins and culture of olive oil. Then an explanatory tour of the production process is followed by a ride through the olive groves in a tractor-drawn cart.

Later on, there is a tasting of three Colinas de Garzón extra virgin olive oils, accompanied by bread, pecan nuts and olives.

And it culminates with the creation of their own, unique blend of extra virgin olive oil that is carried as a souvenir of the experience in its 250 ml version.
