The mayor of Cartagena, Dumek Turbay, announced the ban on the traditional “Halloween ride”, an event that brings together hundreds of motorcyclists each year in different parts of the city. The decision was made for safety reasons and to avoid possible disorders or accidents that usually occur during this type of mass gatherings.

Turbay explained that the measure seeks to protect both the participants and the citizens, remembering that in previous years there have been fights, road blockades and disturbances of public order during the day. “We are not going to allow this celebration to become chaos or an excuse to put human lives at risk,” the president emphasized.
The party is over! 😎 The Mayor DID make good on his threat. I already said it! 🔥 Do you remember this?

The local leader also called on the people of Cartagena to celebrate responsibly, privileging family and cultural activities that do not affect mobility or coexistence. “We want Halloween to be a holiday for the children, not a problem for the city,” he said.
The Ministry of the Interior will also reinforce controls on motorcyclists who circulate in large groups or with costumes that make their identification difficult, and recalled that the restriction on male barbecue riders is in force in several sectors during the season.
With this measure, Cartagena joins other cities in the country such as Barranquilla and Bucaramanga, which have also chosen to cancel or limit mass rides by motorcyclists on festive dates, prioritizing citizen safety and tranquility in the streets.
