The Cuban women’s team began their participation in the Guatemala 2022 Pan American Softball Championship on a good note by obtaining two victories in their first two outings.
In the second game the Cubans delivered zero hits and zero runs to Nicaragua, a match launched by starter Yamelkis Guevara and lefty Filian Tornés.
According to HITthe match ended in four innings with a difference of 10×0 and good offense for the captain Filian Rondón, who hit a three-run homer.
For her part, Anise López threw the entire game against the Dominican Republic, who barely hit a hit in four innings. The pitcher struck out nine athletes and issued one walk. The Cuban offensive was ten runs.
First baseman Yanisleidys Casanova stood out with two hits in the same number of turns, a run scored and another RBI.
Today Tuesday, at night, the Creoles will play against Canada and Guatemala. The first game could define the access to the first four places in the contest, with which they qualify directly for the world championship next year.
