Departmental Inspector carried out evaluation on Summer Schools

During the first week of working with the children, attendance at the Summer Schools proposal has been very good, even with waiting lists in most educational centers.

Summer Schools 2026 has greatly exceeded expectations and the evaluation carried out by the Departmental Inspection of Schools of Cerro Largo is highly positive.

The highest Primary authority in the department also highlighted the start of aquatic activities, a fundamental component of this summer Program.

“We have visited several schools. Last week we were in School 10 and also in School 75. On Monday we also went to Río Branco. Everything is being developed with great success and a good population of children” confirmed the Inspector Cristina Reggiardo to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.

“The places are all full. We were talking with the Director of School 11 because we are surely going to add one more teacher because the number of children attending exceeded what was originally planned” revealed.

“This is very positive” stood out. “Even parents have come to talk. There are waiting lists, if the child is missing for 3 days we have to replace him with another one who is waiting to be called. A father who works like the mother came to ask us to receive his daughter and we did so” he counted. “The most important thing in this is that the children can have fun, that they can work in a different way with activities that are totally different from those they do the rest of the year” he remarked.

The Departmental Inspector of Schools of Cerro Largo considers it essential that children maintain continuity of care, that is, that there are no interruptions. “We are asking that they not be absent, that they attend every day” he exhorted.

“The pool activity has a special attraction, they love it. In addition, they are scheduled to go to Fraile Muerto, more specifically to the city beach. Now they were also considering the possibility of traveling to Salto de Agua in Cerro Chato” he stated.

“They also have the possibility of going to a camp attended by children from schools 114 and 119. There are a variety of activities different from the ones they always do. The children are joining in more and more, they like this combined modality between recreational and educational more.” held.

Cristina Reggiardo also highlighted the integrating effect that Summer Schools achieve in the summer season. “In each school affected by the Program, children from different schools attend. In school 11 there are children from schools 1 and 2, for example. For us, this integration, this collaborative work between children, teachers and teachers is very important” he stressed.

Regarding the teams that have been formed, he said that they are highly responsible, committed professionals who, in addition, have been working together for many years, even though some have joined recently. “The teachers have been working for a long time and so have the teachers” projection.

“In these first days we are doing the tours with the Reference Inspector, Silvia Iparaguirre. Next week I will leave on leave and she will be together with the other Inspector, Sandra Gómez, as Educational Summer References” confirmed. “Sandra Gómez has extensive experience in these activities, most recently from school 18 in Río Branco” he remembered.

“Everything is working very well, everything is under control. We even visited the dining rooms with the Nutritionist, the Bursar, the Physical Education Coordinator and the Psychologist. With the entire team we have gone out to carry out the visits” ended by saying Teacher Cristina Reggiardo, Departmental Inspector of Schools of Cerro Largo.
