The regional director of education, Raúl Rodríguez Paredes, stated that the harvests of the last campaign will favor the consumer, due to the good supply there is.
He affirmed that the 2021-2022 campaign has been carried out normally, since there was good weather, good rains, they had an adequate reserve of fertilizers.

“What is worrying is that there is enough supply and demand is going to be delicate, that makes us anticipate that some prices of products in the market could drop, which would benefit the consumer, but the farmer will have certain economic limitations; the beneficiary is going to take advantage of the offer that will be available at the field level,” said Rodríguez Paredes.
He limited: “There will be good products until June, July; then comes the next campaign 2022 – 2023; in fact, the producers are now selecting their seeds, the concern is the excessive cost of fertilizers; but, there is already a promise from the national government that they will support with guano from the island”.

guano. The official confirmed that the Central Government will sell guano from the island, supposedly at a reasonable price, but that sales spaces should be opened in Tayacaja, Angaraes, Acobamba, Churcampa and in all places close to the producers.
However, the distribution of guano from the islands will not be a 100% solution to the problem, since its production is limited and the demand will increase from the start of the second agricultural season.

“Its production is limited, it is in the guano islands and since now fertilizers have risen, there will be enough demand for guano for all regions. I think there is a policy (in which) they will buy agricultural urea from certain countries and that will be used in the coming campaign,” explained Rodríguez, who added that they still do not have the costs of these products.
