Subsequently, the policeman was released, after it was considered that he acted in legitimate defense.
“After a series of expert opinions, the Prosecutor’s Office determined that the first records would show that the uniformed officer had acted in legitimate defense, which is why he ordered the release of the non-commissioned officer, who was left on notice pending being summoned by the persecuting entity.” said the Public Ministry.
public criminal defender Octavio Sufan He explained that “our client, after being approached by a group of about 20 protesters who beat him to the ground, drew his service weapon to disperse the youths, shooting at the ground. And according to the first reports, the bullet would have ricocheted, injuring a person outside the protest, and that resulted in a minor subcutaneous wound.”
