Prior to the meeting with Abinader, Edmundo González will visit on January 8 Panama where he will meet with the president, José Raúl Mulino.
“President Edmundo comes for 24 hours, he will meet with President Mulino and then he will meet with the Venezuelan community in the afternoon, and from there he will leave for the Dominican Republic where the president (Luis Abinader) will be waiting for him.” ”, declared Moscoso (1999-2004).
Moscoso indicated that González Urrutia will be accompanied by nine former leaders who are members of the Initiative Democratic of Spain and the Americas (IDEA), to which it itself belongs.
González Urrutia will embark on an international tour this Saturday in Argentina ahead of January 10, when Nicolás Maduro will assume a new consecutive mandate amid allegations of fraud by the opposition, which has shown the minutes that attribute the triumph to the politician, exiled in Spain since September.
The standard bearer of the majority opposition “comes (to Panama) to talk with the first country who cut off relations with Venezuela (after the elections in the South American country) and talk about the future of what can be good for Venezuela.
“Let’s hope he talks to the president Mulinowhich once again will give support to President Edmundo, and we hope that other countries do the same,” Moscoso added.
Panama was one of the countries in the region that recognized Edmundo González Urrutia as the winner of the presidential elections on July 28, in which the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, dominated by the ruling party, declared the re-election of Nicolás Maduro without presenting the minutes to support it.
After the elections, Panama and Venezuela closed their respective diplomatic representations and the Government of Ripe commercial flights with Panama are suspended.
