Goiás secured the last spot in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil after beating Bragantino in the penalty shootout by 9-8, on Tuesday night (31) at the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium, in Bragança Paulista.Goiás beats Bragantino on penalties and advances in the Copa do Brasil

The spot had to be defined in the penalties because in the 90 minutes Esmeraldino won 1-0, after Massa Bruta’s 2-1 victory in the first leg at Serrinha stadium.

With the ball rolling, Goiás won thanks to a goal from midfielder Matheus Sales in the 42nd minute of the first half.

As the aggregate score was equal, at 2 to 2, the spot had to be defined in the penalty shootout. In the maximum penalties the goalkeepers shone, with Cleiton taking four kicks (from Fellipe Bastos, Nicolas, Caetano and Danilo Barcelos) and Tadeu five (Alerrandro, Aderlan, twice, and Artur, twice).
