Gómez del Campo delivered a letter addressed to Luis Almagro at the OAS headquarters in Mexico, as he explained in a video he posted on his Twitter social network account. Through various actions, high-profile politicians from various countries demand the release of political prisoners from Nicaragua, Cuba and Venezuela. In addition, they denounce the dramatic situation that their “godchildren” live in prison to achieve their freedom.

“Tamara Dávila has been deprived of her freedom for almost a year and a half by the Ortega regime in Nicaragua, where her health and physical integrity have been affected. I promised to be the voice of Tamara, which is why I asked the OAS Secretary General not to abandon the monitoring of the state of health or the legal situation of political prisoners,” Gómez del Campo emphasized.

Mexican politics called on the dictatorial couple made up of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo to “cease the human rights violations of both Tamara (Dávila) and the other people who are today deprived of their liberty.” “Enough of impunity. Dictatorships destroy. We have to stand on the side of the prisoners and political prisoners », she exhorted.

Tamara Dávila was arrested on June 12, 2021. The Nicaraguan dictatorship decided to imprison Dávila for allegedly violating Law 1055 or Sovereignty Law. She accused her and sentenced her to eight years in prison for the alleged crime of “conspiracy to undermine national integrity” and “treason against the country.”

The dictatorship accused her of violating Law 1055, the Sovereignty Law, a legal tool approved by the deputies of the dictatorship to persecute, imprison and prosecute opponents of the Ortega-Murillo regime.

Dávila was presented last August 31 in the Managua Courts, in the photos and videos broadcast by the propaganda media of the dictatorship she looked very thin, with dark circles under her eyes and physical damage from the torture she has received for more than a year of confinement. in the cells of the Directorate of Judicial Assistance (DAJ), known as “El Chipote”.
