The sectoral vice president of Defense and Sovereignty, and Minister of Popular Power for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, asserted that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb), together with the people, has “the determination to fight, to fight, to battle for freedom, reinforced with republican and libertarian moral conscience.”
When leading the commemorative events 201 years after the battle of Ayacucho, Padrino López emphasized that “it was necessary to remember that our idea of homeland and independence is more valid than ever; Now we are more united and cohesive towards the same objective. So congratulations to the people of Venezuela, to the glories of our liberators.”
Next, he highlighted the importance of this date of victory, which not only sealed the independence of Peru, but also marked a milestone in the fight for the liberation of all of South America from Spanish rule. “This feat of arms, devised by the father of the country Simón Bolívar and commanded by General Antonio José de Sucre, was decisive for the formation of new free and sovereign nations on our continent,” said López.
He highlighted that “after the battle of Ayacucho, the sword used by Antonio José de Sucre, which was delivered by Peru to the Cumanese liberator, disappeared at the hands of the oligarchies.”
He added that “it was clear that the homeland could not be circumscribed by those interterritorial, interimperial limits that the Spanish empire had imposed on us. Their colonizing action.
Minister Padrino López stressed that “our commander in chief, President Nicolás Maduro, spoke about the timeline. It is the timeline that, gentlemen generals and admirals, we must always observe carefully. They are historical facts. But in the end with different speeches, with different rhetoric.”
He stated that “today, with the useless, useless, extravagant rhetoric of drug trafficking, an attempt is made to attack a people who were born to be free,” highlighting that “the genetics of those men and women, who lived 201 years ago, are present in the blood of the people of Venezuela who deeply love peace and the country.”
When referring to the current context of imminent imperialist siege, Padrino López indicated that the people have responded with dignity, “building national power, capabilities, new doctrines, reorganizing and preparing ourselves more every day.”
He pointed out that “the Armed Forces have a guiding plan that bears, by the way, the name of that feat 201 years ago, Ayacucho. It is the transformation plan of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, which is there every day producing changes relevant to the new realities, to the new military and multiform aggression of North American imperialism. So there we have tasks to do, there we have responsibilities to assume. We have a determination, I tell this to those who listen to us from all over the world.”
Finally, Minister Padrino López recalled the statements of Commander Hugo Chávez, who promoted the initiative of national and revolutionary unity, as well as freedom, a legacy that is followed and guided by President Nicolás Madujro Moros.
