He Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino Lópezstated this Wednesday that The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) will preserve territorial integrity “at all costs”, after the announcement of United States government to block all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving the country.
“The FANBstrictly complying with the orders given by our commander in chiefwith imperturbable serenity, without falling into provocations(…) will preserve at all costs the current constitutional and democratic system, as well as the territorial integrity of the country“he pointed out Godfather Lopez when reading a statement in a broadcast of the Venezuelan state television channel (VTV).
Furthermore, he said that the Armed Forces will defend the “legitimate rights over its air and maritime spaces”.
Godfather Lopez pointed out that the “crude and arrogant threats” from the president of the United States, Donald TrumpNo “they intimidate” Venezuela.
“We tell the North American government and its president that we are not intimidated by their crude and arrogant threats (…) and that the dignity of this country is not negotiated or cowed by anyone.“he added.
In the opinion of Godfather Lopezthe Trump’s order to block sanctioned oil tankers “flagrantly violates the United Nations Charter” as for the respect for the sovereignty of States and the resolution of disputes by peaceful means.
“Consequently, they constitute a clear act of aggression and we denounce it to the entire world.whose Multilateral organizations must reflect and act in the face of this insane warlike attitudethat puts at risk not only Venezuela, but the entire Latin American Caribbean region, and global energy stability“he noted.
This Tuesday, Trump assured in his Truth Social account that Venezuela “is surrounded” by “the largest army ever assembled in the history of South America.” and? the commotion will be like never before until “return all the oil, land and other assets they previously stole” to the US.
The Republican announced in this way the “total blockade” against sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuelain a significant escalation of the military operation which began in the international waters of the Caribbean Seawhich supposedly had as its central objective combat drug trafficking organizations that operate in the region.
According to trump, “The illegitimate Maduro regime is using the oil from these stolen fields to finance itself, narcoterrorism, human trafficking, murder and kidnapping”.
Last week, the United States Southern Commandwhich since August has More than 30 boats allegedly linked to drug trafficking attacked in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, took a turn in its operations in international waters by seizing the oil tanker Skipperthat transported Venezuelan crude.
