The Constitutional Points Commission of the Chamber of Deputies approved last night the reform that gives the Senate the power to ratify the promotions of higher commanders of the National Guard (GN) carried out by the head of the Executive, as already happens with military and naval degrees.
The opinion of the minute that modifies articles 76 and 78 of the Constitution was approved by 27 votes in favor of Morena, PT, PVEM and MC, a party that was divided, since one of its members abstained, and five of PAN and PRI suffered against.
During the debate, the opposition indicated that with this reform an omission committed in Congress is covered for working with haste, without looking at what it is doing and without a previous analysis, since the GN had not been included as one of the institutions whose upper control ascents must be confirmed by the Senate.
Modifying “the same article three times in less than a year, is not a good sign for Mexicans and does not speak of professional work” by those who legislate, said PAN Cristina Márquez.
But beyond that, legislators of the PAN and PRI insisted that militarization is not the solution to the problem of violence recorded in the country.
They reproached Morena for having said that the National Guard would have a civil command, but ended with a military one, after warning about the risk of credibility to institutions in which citizens believe with such measures.
On the other hand, the Guinda Party and its allies stressed that this reform is important because that institution is placed under parliamentary control, which already exists for the Navy and the National Defense.
The opinion was referred to the board of San Lázaro to turn before the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies.
On the other hand, the United Transparency and Anti -Corruption and Surveillance Commissions of the Superior Audit of the Federation approved the list of aspirants best evaluated to occupy the ownership of the internal control body of the Attorney General’s Office.
The list is made up of Martha Patricia Carrillo Núñez, Gabriela Limón García, Perla Lizeth Torres López, Oscar Daniel del Río Serrano, Sergio Paul Monroy Vicenteño and César Iván Rodríguez Sánchez.
The opinion was sent to the Political Coordination Board, together with the files of each applicant, where the proposal that will be submitted to plenary will be defined.
