Two alleged spies captured in Lara

GNB sergeant dies during confrontation with kidnappers

A sergeant of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) died from gunshot wounds he received during a confrontation with criminals operating on the San Casimiro-San Sebastián de Los Reyes highway, Aragua, according to military sources.

This event occurred at 11 pm on Tuesday, specifically in the Guanasnal sector, San Sebastián de los Reyes, where they allegedly kept a person kidnapped.

Upon learning of this fact, a mixed commission was formed between agents of the National Anti-extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) and the Cicpc who went to the site.

Once at the scene, the criminals began an exchange of fire with the officials, and 1st Sergeant Ezequiel Vicente Graterol Estrada was wounded in the neck and chest, who was taken to a health center but arrived without vital signs, according to reports.

The deceased was assigned to Conas 42 Aragua. They presume that the kidnapper is an escaped individual from the Aragua Penitentiary Center, located in Tocorón, who blames an uncle for having kept him in prison.

As a reprimand, the subject presumably left the Tocorón prison irregularly to proceed with the kidnapping of his uncle.

There are already two officials who carry out citizen security tasks killed in Aragua during the last 24 hours. Early Tuesday morning in Maracay (Aragua), Jesús Eduardo Bolívar Briceño, who held the rank of Supervisor and was attached to the Aragua Base Organized Crime Directorate of the Bolivarian National Police, was killed.

They presume that the perpetrators of this attack were members of the El Asdrúbal gang, a cell of the Tren de Aragua that operates in the capital of Aragón breaking into homes to steal goods. In that same event, the deputy to the National Assembly Piter José Sayago was wounded.

The death by firearm of Graterol and Bolívar occurred just when the security agencies carried out investigations in the state of Aragua to capture the perpetrators of the murder committed against Professor Carlos Lanz, an act in which the Aragua Train participated. as said by the attorney general, Tarek William Saab.
