Members of the Bolivarian National Guard managed to seize 25 wrappers of suspected cocaine that were hidden in a shipment of frozen strawberries, transported in a Cargo 1721 type vehicle from La Grita, Táchira state, with a net weight of 33,580 kilograms.
The procedure was carried out at the La Padrera citizen service point, in the Libertador municipality of the Andean entity and was destined for the city of Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui state.
The report published on the telegram channel of the Ministry of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace indicates that, in addition to the GNB, members of the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit (Uria) participated in the procedure and with this it was possible to dismantle the so-called “Los Pachos” gang.
The national government has reiterated its frontal fight against drug trafficking in the territory. In recent days, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stated that as a result of this policy, more than 63 tons of drugs so far this year, which represents a hard blow against the gangs that are dedicated to these activities.
