Members of the Bolivarian National Guard dismantled a clandestine laboratory dedicated to distilling crude oil with the purpose of producing fuel in an artisanal way.
The crude oil was stolen from the pipeline that connects Patio Tanque de Palmarejo with Puerto Miranda, which belongs to PDVSA and is located specifically in the Sabaneta sector of Palma, located in the Miranda municipality, Zulia.
According to preliminary investigations, the fuel produced was used by criminal groups operating in the area.
The military personnel continue the relevant investigations to find those involved in this atypical case.
Both the GNB and the Bolivarian National Police have been working together to deal blows to the clandestine laboratories installed in Zulia, whether for fuel or narcotics.
That was the case last February when 350 kilograms of coca base paste, 400 liters of gasoline, 300 liters of diesel, 250 liters of jet fuel and 50 liters of acetone were seized in the Catatumbo area.
